Review: Essex renegades The Prodigy blew up British pop culture in 1996 with 'Firestarter', lighting the string fuse that would lead them from rave pioneerage to nonstop chart-topping. The Fat Of The Land would premiere the following year, but it's still 'Firestarter' that most cautious ex-raver parents play when their children wonder aloud about Keith Flint. X30 celebrates the fact with a fresh 12" booster pack built about the original; joining in are drum & bass figurehead Andy C and rave-techno suit Empirion; the latter, lesser-known version is a properly pugnacious groove, with shit-scary machine-gun saw pulses in speedy divisions of time, not wasting ours for a second.
