Rewind to 2005. We're a few years off the big dubstep boom but that's bubbling away in the background while breaks and UKG both pack UK floors. Meanwhile on more house and techno minded dancefloors minimal and tech house are both drawing big results while electro house does its thing in the mainstream, eventually building up to what will become known as EDM. And amid all of that, you had prolific scene stalwart Rob Pearson and lesser spotted (but still talented) Chris Pascoe lurking the shadows cooking up slinky but tough grooves like these. The type of tracks you'd have heard in Layo & Bushwacka's sets around this time, they tap into the breaks, bass and tech feels of the era but in a very cool and understated way. Classy and still sounding absolutely relevant and dope to this day.
