Ice Mc – It’s A Rainy Day

Review: Ice MC's 1994 Eurodance single 'It's a Rainy Day' may not mean much to British and American listeners, but at the time it was a number one single in his native Italy. Hence this reissue, which offers up a range of mixes featured on the original, Robyx-produced 12". In its 'Euro Club Mix' and 'Radio Mix' forms, it sees the Nottingham-born mic man deliver ragga raps alongside Alexia's chorus vocals atop a throbbing Eurodance groove and near ecclesiastical church organ licks. Alongside two acapellas (fast and slow), we also get a pair of takes by 'Happyman': a chunky, lightly piano-splattered, rave stab-sporting ragga-house style vocal version and a heavier, more expressively dub-house inspired 'Dub Mix'.
