Review: When Italian singer Olga de Souza's voice hit the airwaves in 1995, it felt like pure daylight. 'Baby Baby' was Eurodance at its most sugar-rushed - all plastic sheen, piano stabs and the kind of hook that turned crowded nightclubs into synchronised choirs. Behind the glitter, producer Francesco Bontempi (aka Lee Marrow) was refining a formula that would define mid-90s European pop in with relentless optimism wrapped in the pulse of Italo house. Even now, that chorus lands like a jolt of nostalgia. The extended and radio versions sparkle with the same feverish energy that once filled European clubs, while the Robyx Piano remix smooths out the edges into a slick, melodic glide. On the flip, the Dancing Divaz mixes drag it towards UK house. Muscular, hooky, and built for late-night floors.
