Australian producer Luke Alessi wastes little time following up the launch of his Coffee Cola imprint, serving up another quartet of dancefloor-focused workouts that balance punchy club dynamics with flashes of melody and colour. Fittingly, he begins with 'Sex Machine', a breezy tech house roller where dreamy pads drift above chunky drums and a smoothly propulsive bassline, before following it with the similarly slick 'Pay To Play', whose understated hooks and sunlit atmosphere give it broad crossover appeal. On the flip, 'What Is Cool?' pushes towards peak-time territory through tightly wound percussion and driving low-end pressure, then 'Dr Bongo' closes proceedings with a more percussive proposition including all fluttering hand-drum patterns and rolling groove science. A strong second outing from the fledgling label.0
