At the turn of the millennium, glitch and click-infused house were reshaping the underground, blending stripped-back techno with microscopic edits, warm house grooves and playful rhythmic detail. Few artists captured that moment better than Akufen, whose inventive productions quickly became defining examples of the movement. The return of Architextures 1 2 3 is especially welcome, bringing back one of his most sought-after early releases. Originally pressed in limited numbers before his reputation exploded internationally, these recordings reveal an artist already developing the distinctive production techniques that would soon make him instantly recognisable. 'Architextures 3' provides an uplifting finale, driven by a brighter rhythm and an irresistibly positive atmosphere. It is the most immediate track of the set, with an infectious energy that makes it every bit as memorable as its companions. This long-awaited reissue not only highlights an important chapter in Akufen's catalogue but also a style that ruled the day.
