Zulu Matrix – Hyperspace (Incl. S.O.N.S Remix)

Review: While largely focused on releasing far-sighted 21st century productions, the Bristol-based Sex Tags From Mars label does occasionally offer-up choice reissues of cult classics and electronic obscurities. Here they pay tribute to late Canadian producer Massimo Rosati via a 2026 edition of his sole single alongside Tom Gerencser as Zulu Matrix, 1993's 'Hyperspace'. Reissued with the full involvement of Gerencser, we get the original 'Supernova Mix' - a formative trance affair full of psychedelic acid lines, futuristic bass, metallic percussion hits and surging drums - and two fresh re-edits. Junction Forest regular S.O.N.S steps up first, offering a chunkier, more hypnotic and more urgent interpretation, before Gerencser slams down the deeply spacey, swirling retro-futurism of the 'Event Horizon' mix - a reconstruction that sounds like it could have been made back in the early 90s.
