Unless you've been hiding, you will be well versed in the sound of Velvet Velour, a fine producer with a distinctive and detailed tech house sound that sits right at the vanguard. He drops a suitably sick EP for Magic Carpet's 20th label and shows that you can get the floor in a sweat without forgoing depth. 'Set The Tone (feat Legs)' is wiggy tech house with synth daubs softening the precise drums. 'Energize' has a touch more swing and hints of garage in the jittery drums and 'One Two' is more bold, rubbery and bouncy, which means it's probably going to be the EP's biggest moment. 'Rhythms' is a classic b-side that goes deep and drifts on warm synth smears that carry you through to morning.
