Various – mliu16
Here’s something to get excited about: a first missive from the My Love Is Underground camp for three long years. In an attempt to make up for lost time, boss Jeremy Underground has gathered together seven fresh tracks, and stretched them across two weighty slabs of wax. As usual, the featured deep house cuts tend towards the classic and U.S-inspired, variously doffing a cap to New Jersey, New York and Chicago, via ear-pleasing organ riffs (see DJ Steaw’s excellent “East Orange”), soulful vocal snippets (Teflon Dons), clear boompty influences (Tristan Da Cunha’s Salt ‘n’ Pepa-sampling “Hit Up On This”), and breezy disco (Ebony Cuts). Franck Roger’s contribution, “For Me”, is also one of his sleaziest, basement-friendly tracks to date.
