Swiss duo The Mountain People step outside their own Mountain People imprint for the first time with 'Gom Jabbar' on the Thomas Melchior outlet My King Is Light. Known for their slow-burn corpus in minimal and deep house, this one sits as a rare external appearance, folding neatly into Melchior's similarly detail-obsessed output. Titled after the Dune test of endurance, Gom Jabbar takes pressure held just beneath the surface - brittlest stabs and outbreathed MIDI synth vocals - as wavering chords circle in tight formations, as distant vocal gases thicken and thin, in and out of stateless focus.
