Pianoman – Pasion

Review: For the first missive on his freshly formed Planet Strangelove label, Job Jobse has decided to breathe new life into an extremely obscure and hard-to-find 90s Balearic house gem from long-serving Leeds producer Pianoman – the Tangerine Dream-meets-Italian Dream House inspired ‘Pasion’. For an idea of what the original may have sounded like, check the ‘Sueno Latino’ meets ‘Love on a Real Train’ vibes of Pianoman’s own ‘Analysis Mix’. The most impactful revisions come from Alex Kassian, who offers up both an immersive ambient take (the ‘Mandrime Dream’ mix) and an Italian dream house inspired ‘Mandrine Dance’ version for the clubs. Tesselate founders The Trip round off a fantastic package with a version of ‘Pasion’ inspired by Gat Décor’s similarly saucer-eyed ‘Passion’. Simply superb.
