Namur – DIY EP

Review: "You wanna know how I work?" Do it yourself! Parisian producer Namur's new rev-up label Besides was born of "frustration with the A-side bangers craze", and so sets about a unique concept: all the tracks on 'DIY' are conceived of as "B-sides" (though not in practical terms - just in terms of feeling). 'Cruisin', 'Follow Me', 'Science Friction' and 'Sunday With B Mary' cycles through many a moody, functional program change, serving many a laidback lurch and acid agitation. The B2 - ahem, sorry - B4 is especially slick, making expertly mixed use of a core DX7 organ.
