Marvin Aloys – Crazy Things At Night

Second time around for DJ Hell's popular rework of Marvin Alloys' 'Crazy Things At Night', which first dropped digitally late last year. On this vinyl edition, Alloys' original mix - a driving, tech-tinged slab of pleasingly intergalactic deep house goodness - is tucked away at the end of side B. The focus first falls on Hell's 2023 remix, a bounding, raw-sounding and mind-mangling workout that mixes select elements of the original mix with looser drum machine beats, mangled electronics and sounds reminiscent of the German's ground-breaking electroclash productions of the late 90s and early 2000s. We're also treated to a bonus version in the shape of 'Hell's Crazy Things At Night', a rolling and sub-heavy affair that levels up the jacking swing and dials down the more lo-fi, electroclash-inspired elements.
