A hypnotic slice of minimal house, On / 1977 finds Lee Van Dowski balancing restraint with flair. “On” unfolds patiently, its simmering brass and rolling groove recalling Ricardo Villalobos at his most expansive, while “1977” leans jazzier, looser, and more playful. Both tracks stretch beyond club functionality into slow-burning storytelling—meticulously arranged, subtly psychedelic, and endlessly rewarding for attentive listeners. A beautifully controlled exercise in tension, atmosphere, and groove.
