When it comes to making top-quality house music of a genuinely interesting and captivating persuasion, few of those in the contemporary game can match up to German duo Kollektiv Turmstrasse. It’s perhaps no coincidence, therefore, that their latest EP exudes even more great vibes, in the process compounding their reputation as more-than-solid beatsmiths. This time, it’s a three-tracker on Diynamic that’s caught our attention – and again it sees the boys at the very top of their game. 

‘Sorry I’m Late’ gets going with the title track, which is a real break from convention and the sort of track that’ll have you moving your feet and scratching your head at the same time. Full of unusual vocal samples and a barrage of melodic charms and bulbous beats, it’s definitely hard to ignore, that’s for sure. ‘Last Call’ is a part-manic, part-melancholic number that really does signal the night’s end, before ‘Hour after Hour’ reminds us just why this pair are so loved thanks to a spirited journey to the depths of the deeper side of the scale.
