Inner Lakes – Showyu

Review: Milan producer Inner Lakes has been on a tear, and this Kalahari debut only adds weight to his growing reputation. Across four tracks he sharpens his late-night, spiralling sound into something both functional and atmospheric. 'EMEM' sets the pace with tense, shadowy drive, while 'Showyu' twists noirish melodies around tough, hardware-led percussion. 'Half Based' pushes deeper into rave suspense, all low-end torque and flickering detail. The standout, 'Stray5', is pure Inner Lakes - a hypnotic vortex of synths that's fast becoming his signature tag. Menacing yet finely measured, these cuts work as peak-time DJ tools but reveal more on close listen and are perfect for dark rooms and deeper nights.
