Inner Lakes – Muerte Deluxe

Would you pay over €1,400 euros for a vinyl? Supposedly, someone on Discogs did for Inner Lakes’ Extasy Gate album. Whether or not it’s real, you can get a tasty slice of the Milanese trance master’s brilliant discography with ‘Muerte Deluxe’ for a fraction of the price. This four tracker marks the return of Inner Lakes to New York label Earth Dog, and it’s just as brilliant and devious as his debut on the label. On ‘Control’, bass stabs converge with fluttering percussion and hypnotic vocals to create a delicious acid pie. When the title track comes in, it’s a electro shock to the system as a ragga vocal and foot to the floor drums have enough oomph to defibrillate you into a groove. With ‘OneWayExit’, there’s a looping, infectious energy to the track with its glitched-out vox and surging synth lead, before ‘R3vision’ lures the listener into a dark hole to tantalise us with haunting chimes and an inviting vocal into the belly of Inner Lakes’ techno world.
