Havantepe – Zero-G
Out of stock
Review: Proper impressively synaptic dub techno from The Hague, by virtue of producer Havantepe. Eschewing the tired old trope of smoke-blowing biographical information in favour of a cyberpunk short story, this artist-adept evidently knows how to construct a vision both in sound and theme. From the back-to-back offs of 'Strong Force' and 'Muon', we're met with twin fidgeting visions in minimal techno and cleanly ballistic dub, neither of which betray a hesitancy to pack much effect modulation nor contrast between elements into the mix. The EP's appended fantasy of hoverbikes and antigravity weapons only adds to the sense of bleak, silica-veined determination, as we move into the shufflier undersides constituted by 'Zero-G' and Basicnoise's remix of 'Strong Force', both of which provide glimpses into the underbelly of Havantepe's singularity-razed underworld.
