Franky Rizardo – Shinjuku

Review: Since making his debut alongside Hardwell 20 years ago, Franky Rizardo has taken his ear-catching, frequently melody-rich big room house sound to such sizeable imprints as Defected, Simma Black, 8 Bit Records and, most recently, his own LTF Records regular. Here the Dutch DJ/producer adds another notable stable to his CV, long-running Dutch dance outlet High Fashion Music. A-side 'Shinijuku' is in many ways typical of his trademark style, with melodic trance style lead lines and elastic electronic motifs rising above a deep, rumbling bassline and propulsive, sweat-soaked deep house beats. B-side 'Baile De Fantome' offers an even deeper and more percussive vibe, with a big bold bassline, suspenseful melodic motifs and layered, tribal house style drums.
