Midge Thompson, trading under his own Dance Protocol name, returns to Butter Side Up for another contribution. It comes seven years on from his last feature on the label, in which time he's been working hard to live by the Dance Protocol code and institute his own DPRO catalogue. A self-described audio nerd operating out of Leeds-then-London, he builds tracks from whatever's lying about: vintage synths, YouTube interviews, iPhone field recordings, the lot. 'The Shop Floor', 'Perry Lane' and 'The Back Bench' are the happy result; top frisky afters-territory fodder.
