British/Greek and Berlin/Vienna duo Alex Tsiridis and Huseyin Evirgren helm the 30th release on Prologue and approach such a landmark with the requisite reverence, offering up a double 12″ helping of Cassegrain material.
Tiamet sees the pair explore the Babylonian mythology of an ocean dwelling, chaos monster across six tracks with the resultant dubby, diluted sound design a cultivated step forward from Cassegrain’s previous works.
This release highlights Cassegrain’s ability to embed rich and experimental sonics within a techno-functional framework and cultured ears will pick out subtle influences from fellow Prologue artists Cio D’Or and Mike Parker at points throughout. We’d have to agree with the label in their summation Tiamet is some of the best techno they’ve heard so far.
