Review: Last year, Tesselate founders The Trip aka Max van Dijk and Oliver Hiam, doffed a cap to crossover club sounds of the 1990s with Clubdance 2025, a four-track EP presented as if it were a mix CD of trance and progressive house hits from 1997. This follow-up covers similar artistic ground, with pleasingly potent and ear-catching results. For proof, check the glossy, saucer-eyed joy of opener 'Open Arms', a nod to Euro-dance hits of the early-to-mid-90s, and the early UK speed garage revivalism/early bassline flex of 'Don't Stop'. Elsewhere, 'Body Talk' is a percussive, slow-building delight that blends the dub-flecked end of early progressive house with muscular, mid-90s NYC house, while 'The Beat' is a heady peak-time workout underpinned by tough beats and rubbery synth-bass.
