In a typically smutt-strewn ghetto house style the EP opens with ‘Suck My Candy Cane’. If the title errs on the inuendo side, the full track comes (ooh-er Mrs) complete with sucking samples and a chorus of ‘suck my dick’. ‘U Remind Me Of Some Sex’ channels Prince, but in a jacking house style with sleazy vocals. Next up is the classic Belgian rave-influenced “Give Me Ecstasy” to take you up, up and away on a beautiful balloon. Lastly Johnson whips a skippy garage storm on ‘Groove Melody’ – no pitching up required for UKG crowds, this one’s already hyped up on the BPM count.

Given the rise in popularity of Dance Mania-inspired ghetto-house and ghetto-tech releases over the last couple of years, it was perhaps inevitable that someone would put together a compilation celebrating the label's greatest moments. That it was Strut that did it with Dance Mania Hardcore Traxx: Dance Mania Records 1986-1997 was something of a comfort.
Made in Germany
Includes the CD version of this release which includes two additional tracks, 6 and 14.
