The needle has a special elliptical cut, which allows a more extensive scanning of the record and thus ensures a higher quality sound reproduction than a spherical needle. Apart from this, the high output voltage ensures loud sound reproduction with low pre-amplification and consequently a reduction of possible feedback in live environments. The Ortofon Concorde MKII Club system can also be used for digitisation, as every detail of the sound carrier is recorded due to the extremely high and neutral sound reproduction.
