Largely operating in the 90s and early 00s before a 2015 comeback EP, Ben Stokes tended not to rush his Dimensional Holofonic Sound (DHS) releases. Mind Control, for instance, dropped in 2001, four years after the previous DHS record. Taking his time was clearly of benefit for the eventual outcome. Mind Control’s acid electro is not overly busy, but it has a mesmeric quality that draws you in ever deeper. The way opening cut ‘Hypnosis’ morphs imperceptibly into ‘I Am Your Control’ befits the former’s title.
